Come on a course with the only falconry company on the Isle of Wight run by a qualified falconer / Game Keeper

          Here at White Falconry Ltd we offer a wide range of courses and activities. If you do not see a course or event that suits your needs please do not hesitate to contact us.

We try and structure our courses / event to meet everyone’s requirements.

   Full day Falconry course

    This course is for the person who is thinking of getting their own bird of prey. On this course you will learn how to make equipment and put it on the bird. You will also learn how to grab and hold on to the birds in the correct manner, during this course you will learn the stages of training a bird right through to free flying.

     Week and Weekend falconry course

    The weekend course covers everything in the previous course but in more depth. You will learn about the bird’s weight and food intake, as well as the different types of housing they need. You will also have the chance to spend more time with the birds and learn about their characters.

    On the week course you will learn the correct manner of swinging a lure and flying a falcon. We will teach you to fly one of our birds and on the last day of the course you will fly the bird all by yourself while being supervised by a falconer. The aim of the week course is for you to reach a standard to be able to get your own bird and to know what it will take to look after it.

        Flying days and half flying days.

    The flying days are for the individual who would like to have the chance to fly these fantastic birds but not to spend any time in a class room. You will be introduced to your bird and get an introductory lesson on how to hold it and then you will go out on some of the beautiful land the Isle of Wight has to offer.

    A half flying day is ideal for a person who wants to get the chance to fly one of our birds of prey but does not want to spend all day walking about. This course is also designed for the individual who enjoys flying birds but does not have the time to look after there own. For the cost of this course you could afford to fly birds a few times a year with none of the worry or work of the up keep.

            Hunting days

    The hunting days are for individuals who want to see these lovely birds at their best. On a hunting day you will go out with a bird of prey (Harris hawk / Sparrow hawk) and try and catch the birds quarry. We would advise you to make your booking during the hunting season in order for the bird to have the widest choice of quarry.

              Evening flying

    Evening flying provides the chance to see these lovely birds in their natural environment against the lovely sunsets seen from the Isle of Wight. Due to the weather this event will mainly run through the summer. Evening flying will run from 6pm until 8pm, times may vary depending on the individual person.

             Falconry workshop

    Falconry workshops are designed for people who own their bird / birds and would like to make their own equipment, thereby reducing the cost of a very expensive and rewarding hobby. It is also aimed at anyone who would like to learn more about the techniques of falconry whether or not you own a bird. A falconry workshop runs over one day, it will start at 10am and finish about 5pm. Included in the price of this course are all materials needed, anything you make is yours to take home. Refreshments will be available at our venue as part of the course or you are at liberty to bring your own.  

Because of health and safety issues this course is for 16 years and over.

                This course will only go ahead if there are 10 or more people booked.

 All courses are structured to suit individual needs.

 We will also be running different courses throughout the year. These courses will be advertised in plenty of time for bookings. 

There are no set dates for courses or Event we aim to be as flexible as possible according to demand.

White Falconry Ltd reserves the right to change the date of your course under extreme circumstances.

Some courses will need outside clothing as well as walking boots or wellies.

 Most courses will have no more than 4 people on at any one time unless they are friends.

You can have a one to one course at no extra charge.

Most courses are open to all age groups.

 All outside courses are weather dependant.

        Outside flying Demonstrations

 If you are a company or a visitor attraction and are looking for a highly trained and unusual spectacle to draw crowds to your venue then outside demonstration could be what you are looking for. We pride ourselves on having new and innovative ideas not yet seen on the Isle of Wight.

        Outside static Demonstrations

With an outside static display we will NOT fly our birds but they will be on show for your visitors to see. A falconer will be on site to answer any questions the public may have regarding raptors. Depending on the venue and your requirements we would consider allowing the public to handle the birds.

        Corporate events

White Falconry Ltd can cater for most sizes of groups. For a Corporate event you would have to choice of us coming to you or you coming to a venue of our choosing. At such an event your employees or guests would have the opportunity to handle the birds of prey or see them fly in an organised demonstration. We will bring a selection of birds including Owls, Hawks and Falcons. We can also offer educational talks if you choose an inside venue. What ever you have in mind we will try to meet your personal requirements. Please contact us for a informal chat and free estimate.

        Educational talks

A major part of White Falconry’s commitment to birds of prey is to educate the public about falconry as well as the correct way of handling and maintaining raptors. One of the services we offer is for us to go out to schools and give pupils the chance to see these fantastic birds up close as well as getting the chance to touch them. As a company we can modify the talk to suit all age groups and abilities. If you are interested in our educational programmes please get in contact.

 White Falconry Ltd regrets it is unable to accept debit or credit cards. All payments have to be by cheque backed by a banker’s card or cash.

A deposit of 50% of the cost is required to guarantee your place on the course which will be non-refundable except in extreme circumstances.

 All of these courses and events will be taken be experienced and qualified falconers.
