About white falconry Limited

White Falconry Ltd is a company that was set up in June 2004 on the Isle of Wight. The Company is run by Steven Hain and his partner Lynette Atkinson. The director of the company (Steven Hain) is a qualified Game Keeper as well as having over five and a half years experience in the field of falconry incorporating demonstrations, falconry days and corporate days. Lynette’s fascination for birds of prey started when she first met Steven, and ever since then her love for these fantastic birds has grown, so much so Lynette has already trained her own bird (lady) and has had a big part in naming the company’s birds.

Steven’s training started in 1998 at a falconry centre based in Fife, Scotland. Steven started out in falconry by working as a volunteer for a year as well as attending his local college (Elmwood College) to train as a Game Keeper. After two years at college Steven left with his qualification in Game Keeping at level 2.

After three great years learning the ancient art of falconry Steven left his first place of work to further his knowledge. After another two and a half years working at two other falconry centres Steven decided to give something back to the public by showing them the correct and historical art of falconry.

White Falconry Ltd will be holding lots of different courses to suit everyone’s needs (to find out more about what we have to offer visit the page about courses) as well as doing demonstrations to the public. White Falconry Ltd is including elements that no other falconry company on the Island has every done before in our demonstrations.

As a result of the experience Steven has gained in falconry, his heart lies in conservation and rehabilitation of wild birds of prey. Consequently a large percentage of White Falconry’s time and resources will be spent helping the wild raptor population on the Isle of Wight. To rehabilitate wild birds of prey takes a lot of time and money, so Steven and the other members of his staff will be giving up some of their spare time to make this possible. White Falconry is also in the process of setting up a charity to raise funds to cover vets bill, equipment to build more housing and food. If you would like to make a donation to help with the rehabilitation program please do not hesitate to get in contact.
